GDPR & CCTV Compliance
CCTV Installers UK is a trading name of Fairdeal Renovations Limited, registered in England and Wales. Company No. 15026869. Registered office: The Workspace Basildon, 7 High Pavement, Basildon, England, SS14 1EA.
Our compliance promise
Every system we install is configured to be lawful on handover day: camera angles planned to minimise capture beyond your boundary, privacy masking applied on shared boundaries, factory passwords replaced with strong credentials, encrypted remote access, retention set to auto-overwrite on a defined cycle, and signage supplied where the law expects it.
Home CCTV owners
If your cameras only capture your own property, data-protection law does not apply to your recordings. If they capture shared or public space, UK GDPR applies in a light-touch way: have a genuine security purpose, minimise what you capture, tell people recording occurs, keep footage secure and delete it routinely, and respond to requests from people for footage of themselves. Your handover pack includes a one-page guide covering each duty.
Business CCTV owners
Businesses operating CCTV are data controllers and normally must pay the ICO data protection fee, display compliant signage, document the purpose of each camera, set and enforce retention, and answer subject access requests within one month. Commercial handovers include an ICO registration walkthrough, signage, and a retention and access-request procedure ready to adopt.
For monitored or ANPR systems we also document where data goes and who can view it — the questions insurers, licensing officers and auditors actually ask.
Footage for the police
Police can request footage relating to an investigation; providing it is lawful. Our systems export time-stamped clips in formats police systems accept, and the handover pack explains how — so evidence reaches an officer while it still matters.
